The new Bigster SUV from Dacia has been unveiled ahead of its debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, following the presentation of a concept four years ago.
Measuring 4.57 meters in length, the Bigster competes with popular models like the Ford Kuga, Hyundai Tucson, and VW Tiguan, aiming to offer a differentiated value proposition in the competitive C-segment of the European automotive market.
Patrice Levy-Bencheton, Dacia’s vice president of product performance, emphasized the brand’s intention to provide the best value for money in the market, expanding its presence in this segment.
The design of the Bigster is a larger version of the Duster, featuring a bold look with an extended wheelbase and a voluminous rear, maximizing interior and trunk space. The interior combines familiar elements from Dacia and Renault models, highlighting a raised central console and a modern infotainment screen. The SUV offers a variety of features, such as electric seats and a powered trunk, along with innovative storage solutions.
The Bigster will be available in multiple versions, with an estimated starting price of around $35,200, making it one of the most affordable family SUVs on the market.
The powertrain will include a hybrid option for the first time at Dacia, along with a three-cylinder gasoline engine. With 600 liters of trunk space, the Bigster promises to be an attractive option for families seeking comfort and practicality.
